The Day After

Alongside Kanda River in Takatanobaba. It's a gorgeous sight, made even more appealing by the down-to-earth surrounding area. Small houses and shops line the river, bringing a momentary beauty to the unflashy neighborhood. After yesterday's rain, the cherry blossoms are looking decidedly more sparse.

You know cherry blossom season is nearly over when you find yourself taking photos of all the accumulated petals. Luckily I caught them at the right time last year.

Funny how the petals seem so much pinker than when they are on the tree.

In the Kanda River. The petals have pooled in the crevices of the rocks.

There were lots of older people with large cameras (a hobby perhaps?). This person chained up his backpack so he could wander around with ease.
